The Titania Girl worldwide movie premiere was set to take place in about three hours in Atlanta, Georgia. However the party was already in full effect as pre event mixers and parties were already cranked way up. Also right in the heart of all the pre show hoopla was the Titania Girl memorabilia show that was just across the street from the historic Fox Theater in downtown Atlanta.

Jana was looking to use crowds and the hype around the area to her advantage before the night was out. She planned on using the party like atmosphere as a diversion as she stole the original line works of art for the original comic’s first issue.

Now personally Jana couldn’t care less about the comic book, the movie, or the pumped up strangeness that had surrounded the production of the movie.

What she did care about was her promised six figure pay day if she managed to nab the comic artwork for her employer.

She had stolen art before, but from a museum. She had not had any reason to try and steal comic art before. She figured that there just wasn’t a market for it but apparently there was for the Titania Girl art work. Museums for all that they were, were normally pretty easy to steal from comparatively speaking.

Of course this current job wouldn’t be anywhere as easy taking something out of a museum after hours. This would be much more up close and personal than she liked. That always made things more difficult. Normally speaking people don’t appreciate having their things taken and so that is why Jana normally followed a pretty simple code when it came to her chosen profession.

Exodus 20:15 says very plainly that Thou Shall not Steal. As far as she was concerned it should have read that thou shall not be caught stealing. To that end she employed her code of not being caught.

No impulsive thefts. Everything was done with careful research. The job had to be done at the right time, in the right place, and under almost perfect conditions. If anything didn’t feel right she simply pulled off and waited for things to be just the way she wanted them.

Only this job was not going to afford her the chance to just back off. This was the first time the original line art had been outside of a vault at Expo Comics in nearly five years. If Jana didn’t grab her prize before the end of the night she wasn’t promised a second chance.

Her employer was very emphatic that they wanted the original line art for the cover. Nothing else would do. Because in the week leading up to the premiere Jana had done her research  like the great theft that she was. She had toured the memorabilia hall several times to get the lay of the land and to know the ways in and out of the place. What she had discovered was that the building was very secure. Not a lot of different ways into and out of the building. Once inside it was mostly wide open with cases set up in the middle and along the walls showing off the brief but rich history of the character. She had taken video of the place and tried to point out to her benefactor that grabbing what they wanted would be nearly impossible, but there were several other artifacts in the hall that might prove worthwhile. Yet her employer remained steadfast in their request.

So with that being the case Jana was working on a way to get her mark out of a glass vault that was from the research she had done bomb proof. All while not being seen or caught in the act. Of course that seemed a bit too much to hope for. So she would settle for not being seen as stealing the artwork but simply moving for safe keeping.

She had spent a few hours looking into the security provider for the event and ended up making what she considered a reasonable fake employee ID. It wouldn’t hold up to much scrutiny but for fanboys and girls, and even party goes it would do the trick.

So she walked back through the hall one last time in her simple little black dress and modest high heels.

She was of course a party member at the moment and so she would have to make an appearance at one of the pre show parties to help her cover as a Titania Girl fan who was just in town for the premiere. Her brown hair was done up in a messy sort of bun so as to be out of her way while also looking stylish. She looked into her purse with her gloved hands. On the inside of the purse she had an electric pulse interrupter. A little something she had developed over the years. She wondered if her father would approve of her engineering degree being used in such a way. She seriously doubted it but she wasn’t about to call him up and ask him either.

It would hopefully do the it’s job of jamming all the wi-fi, and electric signals in the room, when it was time. While hopefully allowing her access to the vault. If that didn’t work then she would truly be up shit creek without a paddle. She fiddled with the mechanism for a moment before walking toward the door that would exit the hall.

She checked one last time in the purse to make sure the settings were right. She would be back in a few minutes to turn out the lights in the hall.

As she was taking her hand from the purse she flipped over the on switch instead. “Son of a Bitch” she muttered as she wasn't ready to have done that just yet. Now she would have to act fast and that would go against another of her own rules.

The lights in the room flickered right before going out completely. She heard several people mumer but she knew now was her moment. She quickly grabbed her fake id/credentials that indicated that she worked for the company that was in charge of the displays.

She moved straight for the case that held the desired artwork. The mumbling in the room grew louder since the lights hadn’t come right back on. She placed a hand on the glass to the display vault that the cover art sat in and went to open it when a large male hand shut the door very quickly.

“What are you doing” questioned the man who Jana had to admit to herself was a little better looking than the run of the mill rent-a-cop she was used to seeing in the hall up until that point.

“I was going to get the artwork out of here and to a more secure location” Jana made sure to look for the man's identifying tag so when she was ready she could sound very pompous and bossy. “Nick” she spat at the man before continuing “perhaps she should just call Mrs. Williams up and tell her that you kept me from doing my job.”

The man rolled his eyes a little before replying “really you work for Mrs. Williams” asked Nick?

Jana felt something off about the way the man said the name. Something must have happened to the Mrs. Williams that Jana knew about. The only problem was that if that were the case she didn’t have another name to drop other than Mr. Slee the man who ran the Comic Company and well that was a bluff that was just too large to bet on working. So she played it safe and stuck with the person whose name she knew, that she had believed was the perfect middle management person to have her left alone without very much hassle.

“Yes I work with Mrs. Williams” she replied hoping that she didn’t see a lot of issues in Nick’s eyes when she finished her reply.

Almost instantly she regretted her answer.

“Well, well isn’t that funny seeing as she retired last week, plus this case is the most secure spot in Atlanta” gloated Nick.

Jana’s stomach dropped. Still undeterred she just rolled with it “well of course she did, I meant I worked with her. Still so fresh you know haven’t gotten use to the new boss.”

“I bet that must be really hard” the man replied with a wide grin on his face.

Jana wondered how much deeper she had dug her hole with saying what she just had when she finally realized that Nick’s name tag also showed that he was the site manager. That meant that he was over the security of the site. “Guess you would be the new boss, huh” she gulped.

“Yeah you could probably say that” he said. “I think I’m going to have to ask you to go ahead and take your hands off the vault and come with me until local law enforcement arrives.”

Jana swallowed hard. All her planning was now down the drain thanks to a piece of faulty information gained from the company website. Still she wasn’t ready to go down just yet.

She quickly balled up her fists and socked the man standing between her and her prize with a quick left handed jab. She followed that up with a haymaker of a right cross. Forcing him to grab his nose as he staggered backwards.

Jana threw open the display vault and grabbed the comic book art slammed the display case closed and started to make for the exit when she remembered that she had to leave something in the place of the comic as per her employer's instructions.

At that very moment it was even more ridiculous that it had sounded when she had first been told to do it by her employer. She had to leave behind a napkin with a few scribbles on it along with a kiss from her own lips to mark it with lipstick.

“I don’t have time for this shit” she spat as she turned back to the display case. At the same time nick was getting his feet back under himself again and was clearing the tears from his eyes. He would no doubt be calling for additional help now as he also pulled a tazer from his jacket.

Still her pay day rested on finishing the request as per her employer instructions. So quickly she pulled the napkin from her purse kissed it with her lips. She looked at the napkin briefly it was barely marked with her faint lipstick but none the less it was marked.

Jana then turned at took off out for the door as people jumped out of her way as she rushed away from the scene. As she ran up the street she couldn’t help be think against all odds she had managed to pull off the heist. As Nick ran behind her screaming at the top of his lungs for her to stop.

That is when she started to feel tingling in her fingers and toes. “Oh shit did he just taze me” she whispered as she continued to move forward. The thought didn’t go away when the tingling moved up her shins and forearms before spreading all over her body. A single block away from the hall Jana’s body was numb and she was struggling to move at all. She was honestly having a hard time staying on her feet.

“What the hell” she mumbled as she felt her black high heels tighten around her feet, and the skirt of her already short skirt slip up her upper thighs. Tazers don’t do that she told herself. She watched in disbelief as her feet ripped through the pointed toe of the shoe her foot easyily outgrowing the shoe that had fit perfectly just a moment before.

“This can’t be real” she said through lips that wouldn’t quite move. All while watching her arms extend longer than before and her midsection stretched out like she was being pulled on my a taffy maker.

“Oh trust me sweetheart it’s very real” Nick said as he finally caught up with Jana. “I guess you could say that the art you have is just slightly booby trapped.” Then the man giggled at his clever play on words just as Jana’s breasts began to balloon up in size causing a lot of strain on her bra and lower cut dress top. Flesh from her swelling breasts began to spill out of the top of the dresses material.

“Make it stop or I’ll never be able to work again” pleaded Jana as she felt her bones stretching and reforming longer and longer as her body contorted and grew larger with each passing moment. ‘Here take the damn stuff back, just please make this stop.”

Nick took the cover art back from Jana and just like that the growth that Jana was experiencing stopped, and her body began with wither and return back to it’s normal shape.

Jana didn’t understand what had happened to her, but she was pretty sure that her shoes were ruined, and the top of her dress had nearly ripped apart as seams had began to pop from the size of her shoulders and breasts.

“How” Jana asked just before an old man stepped before her.

“The how is much less interesting that the why” replied the old man.

“Why, then” asked Jana?

“Simply put that bastard Masters put you up to this and his people will never get this comic no matter how badly they want it. It’s power and it’s secrets will stay right where they have been from the beginning. Now the question really becomes what in the hell am I going to do with you Ms. Hansen. Just what am I going to do with you...”
A bit of a time jump from the last bit of  Titania Girl: On Their Own
The phone rang and rang, but after several rings Slee’s phone went to voicemail. Morgan was frantic as she hung the phone up without leaving another message. She had already left ten messages since Val had asked her to call the old producer.
“Still no answer” she shouted as she paced back and forth in Val’s living room. Her mother and father both sat nearby and nervously muttered back and forth about what they had seen with their eye that night.
“Dear you really should calm down. After all we are back in the apartment. The media didn’t see Val when we got back. This Slee character will call back when he gets a chance. Leaving messages won’t make him reply any sooner” Morgan’s mother pleaded with her daughter.
Morgan understood that she was just trying to reason with her, and for whatever reason that only made Morgan more beside herself in anxiety. She was about to snap at her mother. She didn’t really want to but the woman had
. This also happens to be my entry into the :iconserialstories: contest where we had to have a thief steal something, while leaving a calling card. Since I didn't really have a thief in story universe I made one.
Everyone say hello to Jana Hansen. She was hired to take something from someone who is hiding a lot more than anyone knows. Only problem is you really shouldn't take things that don't belong to you. Especially when those things may have powers beyond your comprehension...
A little shout out to :iconSamarakana: who help create this world and several of the characters in it. We will get back around to working on the original series at some point.
The preview image is the work of :iconzerohour99: Who took the idea of a Titania Girl Comic book cover and ran with it. He pays honor to some classic Comic book covers. Really can't say enough nice things about him and the work he has done.
