Katie, is suffering mostly in silence after a horrific event changed her life forever a year ago. How do you move on when everything about you is different? How do you cope with some of the bad things that have happened in your life. What if you were given power in an amount that would make you an unstoppable force. Would you cross that line and leave your old self behind?

This is something a little different. Or at the very least a variation on a familiar theme. I haven't written a first person story in a while and it felt like the right time. If for no other reason than to make sure I could still do it. As far as the character of Katie is concerned it's just a little exercise to see what an marginalized, mostly ignored person would do if their life was completely changed forever. Where they can no longer just fade into the background. How do they accept their new normal?

Comments as always are welcome. Do you think Katie will ultimately be a force for good or ill? No idea if this will get a follow up, but maybe if it does well we will see.

I felt that this story immediately hit me with its intended viewpoint of a young woman who nearly a year ago had been involved in a horrible event that has also turned her into a walking juggernaut, and is still trying to find her new normal.

The whole "become superhuman through an accident that should have killed them" theme has been done many times. No one can deny that. However, the artist has gone to great lengths to put a unique spin on this theme in that the story is told through the eyes of Katie, who was once mostly ignored and now longs to have her old life back among other things.

This artist knows from experience how to write the various changes Katie undergoes in the story, and I applaud his use of the first person perspective to let the reader into her thoughts and experiences throughout the story.

Thanks to this, I felt really connected to Katie's story, and even a little interested in what may happen if she were to fully embrace what she's become. While the artist has said he's unsure if there will be more to this story, I'm left hungering for more. In my mind, that's a good thing.

I hope this helps in some way.
